How the 70% practical rule is measured
What counts as active work, what counts as passive, and why the number is computed per module rather than across the catalogue.
Every Crediteris module spends at least 70% of its estimated time on active work. The estimate is not a slogan: each activity in a module carries a duration and a kind, and the platform computes the ratio from those two numbers.
Active work is what the learner does: case analysis, branching scenarios, worked exercises, simulations, knowledge checks, assessments and the action plan they complete at the end. Video, reading and reviewing model answers count as passive — including the time spent reading feedback, even though it follows active work.
Two choices keep the published figure conservative. The ratio applies to each module on its own, never averaged across the catalogue, so a passive-heavy module cannot hide inside a good average. And passive time is budgeted on the French text, which runs longer than the English, so the English version is at least as practical as the published figure.
In the specification the lowest module is 72.2% (CA-101) and the catalogue as a whole is 82.4%. The platform will not publish a module that computes below 70%. Once learners are using it, the same report runs on real measured durations rather than our estimates, and administrators can read the practical share per module.
The full module list, with each module's practice share, is on the curriculum page.
